Formed by Rian Murphy (ex-Mantis, Royal Trux) as a "fun" alternative to a generally down-in-the-dumps mid-90s music scene, the “Cheatnuts” originally featured Paul Caporino of MOTO, Rick Rizzo of Eleventh Dream Day and Dave Marr of Star Room Boys (also ex-Mantis). Live, the band acted as a provocational dance band, playing shows around Chicago and making a couple of “fun” records.
